Meet the Teacher......
Welcome to Mrs. Pinkerton's 2nd grade class website! To begin, I'd like to tell you a little about myself:
My name is Nicole Pinkerton, and this will be my 10th year of teaching. My husband's name is Wayne, and we have twin 7 year old boys named Caleb and Corbin. They will be in Second Grade this year! I have 4 dogs named Reesie, Bella, Jake, and Cash. I love animals, reading, playing games online, and watching TV! I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Olivet Nazarene University, and I received my master's degree in Language Education from Indiana University.

Read About My
Goals...
My goal is for each child to work toward
his/her own potential. I set high expectations that are within each child's
reach. It is my hope that each child gains the knowledge needed to be
successful in the following years. I want each child to have the desire to
learn more and work hard to do it. To help make this happen, I am implenting a
number
of ideas in my room. You will read about the 90 minute reading
block below. You will also find information about The Daily Five and The Cafe
Menu on the tabs to the left.
This year we is the 2nd year to have a 90 minute reading block. This is an uninterrupted time to teach reading,
phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension skills without breaking into
recess, specials, lunch, or other distractions. I have tons of ideas for this
school year, and I can't wait to share them with my new 2nd graders! Please
