P.A.W.S.
Our school implemented the P.A.W.S. Program a few years ago.
P.A.W.S. stands for:
Postive
Accountable
Well-mannered
Safe
As a school, we teach students how to have good "P.A.W.S." behavior in the classroom, bus, gym, lunch room, restroom, etc.
Some very important aspects of this are:
1. Listening to peers and teachers. This means raising your hand and waiting your turn, listening to directions, and not arguing.
2. Using kind language. This means speaking postively to others as well as using appropriate language during school hours.
3. Caring about school property and one's own property. This means sharing, writing on designated areas only (not bathroom stalls, tables, desks, self), collecting items that belong only to themselves, using all property appropriately, etc.
4. Taking care of ourselves. This means working during classroom time, staying in seat when asked, staying quiet in hallways and during assemblies, keeping our personal space clean, asking permission to leave classroom, keeping our hands and feet to ourselves, etc.
